Work with me
Four ways in.
Most enquiries fall into one of four kinds. Saying which one at the outset makes the first conversation considerably shorter and more useful.
01 · Strategic advisory
Governments, HTA bodies, agencies and industry
This is for organisations that have to decide what a genomic or precision medicine technology is worth, and then defend that decision. Two decades of work sit behind it, on both sides of the table: producing the evidence, and advising the people who assess it.
- Value frameworks and evidence strategy for a technology or programme
- Economic evaluation, micro-costing and cost-benefit modelling
- Reimbursement and HTA submission strategy, including MSAC pathways
- National genomics strategy, investment cases and prioritisation
- Independent review of an existing evidence base or economic model
02 · Speaking
Keynotes, expert panels and executive briefings
Recent invited addresses include the WHO, the Pan American Health Organization, GA4GH plenaries, the European Society of Human Genetics and the World Economic Forum. Each talk is built for the room it is given in: a policy audience and an investor audience need the same evidence framed very differently.
- Conference keynotes and plenaries
- Policy roundtables and expert working groups
- Board and executive briefings on genomics value and market access
- Masterclasses and short courses for teams
03 · Research collaboration
Universities, consortia and funders
Health economics works best when it is built into a study from the design stage, and it usually fails when it is added once the analysis has begun. Existing collaborations span Australia, the UK, Canada, the US, Singapore and the WHO Western Pacific region.
- Health economics workstreams within trials and implementation studies
- Co-investigator roles on grant applications
- Preference elicitation and quality of life measurement in rare disease
- PhD supervision and postdoctoral placements
04 · Ventures
Founders, investors and translation partners
This is for teams building in genomics, diagnostics or decision tools, where the value case has to be defensible rather than decorative. It is also for investors who want that case pressure-tested by someone who has argued it in front of national payers.
- Value proposition and evidence-generation strategy for early-stage companies
- Diligence support on health economic claims
- Translation partnerships and co-development
Get in touch
Say which of the four it is, and what decision you are trying to make.
That is usually enough for a first reply that is useful. Advisory and speaking engagements are contracted directly with Ilias Goranitis, ABN 19 620 452 647; research collaborations run through the University of Melbourne.
